Dehradun – The construction of a blood bank at Coronation District Hospital has officially started, fulfilling one of District Magistrate (DM) Savin Bansal’s top priorities. The facility, being built with ₹142.91 lakh, aims to ensure better availability of blood for patients, reducing dependency on external sources.
Foundation Laid by Health Minister
The foundation stone was laid in the last week of January by the Health Minister, marking a key step toward strengthening healthcare infrastructure in Dehradun. DM Savin Bansal is personally monitoring the construction progress to ensure timely completion.
Healthcare Advancements Under DM Savin Bansal
Since assuming office, DM Bansal has implemented several healthcare initiatives, including:
- Operationalizing the SNCU (Special Newborn Care Unit)
- Setting up an ASHA home
- Launching an ICU at the sub-district hospital
- Providing free meals for patients at Vikasnagar Hospital
- Expanding medicine counters
- Installing an ultrasound machine in Sahaspur
- Introducing a dedicated ambulance for Nariniketan
With the blood bank soon to be operational, patients at Coronation District Hospital will no longer have to struggle for blood supply, improving emergency care services.
