CM Dhami Orders Swift Action on Water Conservation and Dam Projects

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to accelerate water conservation efforts and the rejuvenation of natural water streams. During a review meeting on irrigation and rural development projects, he emphasized the importance of preserving water sources across the state.

He instructed the irrigation department and municipal corporations to collaborate on rainwater harvesting in urban areas and prioritize groundwater recharge using innovative methods. The CM also stressed the need for improved drainage systems, check dam construction, and canal maintenance to benefit farmers.

Dhami urged the irrigation and mining departments to devise a permanent solution for silt removal from rivers and reservoirs. Officials reported that ₹678 crore has been spent on the Jamrani Dam project, set for completion by March 2029, while the Song Dam project is expected to be finished by March 2030. Additionally, 61 roads are under construction under the CM Rural Connectivity Scheme.
