Air Raid Sirens Sound in Dehradun During Mock Drill, Police and SDRF on High Alert

A mock drill was conducted in Dehradun today by the district administration and civil defence teams to assess emergency preparedness during potential air threats. The drill began at exactly 4:12 PM when air raid sirens were activated at several key locations, prompting immediate response from the police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).

Sirens were sounded at Aragarh Chowki, Dhara Chowki, NIEPVD, the District Collectorate, and Lakkhibagh Police Post. Upon activation, security personnel carried out evacuation procedures at residential complexes and government buildings, guiding people to safer areas.

The exercise aimed to raise awareness among the public about the necessary precautions during an air raid. Citizens were informed about how to protect themselves in such emergencies and what essential items to keep in case of a blackout. The drill also served to keep local police on alert mode and test their coordination with other emergency services.
