Uttarakhand to Propose Dharmaswa Tirthatan Parishad Formation Ahead of Char Dham Yatra

The Uttarakhand government is preparing to establish the Dharmaswa and Tirthatan Parishad ahead of the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed officials to finalize the draft and present the proposal in the state cabinet soon, aiming for swift approval before the pilgrimage begins.

A detailed discussion on the council’s framework was held at the Secretariat on Monday under the chairmanship of CM Dhami. The tourism department has been instructed to finalize the formation plan and expedite its presentation to the cabinet.

With the number of pilgrims increasing during the Char Dham and Kanwar Yatra each year, the proposed council will play a vital role in improving crowd management, registration systems, and traffic control. The Dharmaswa and Tirthatan Parishad is expected to ensure better safety, facilities, and management during these large-scale religious events.

The government is also planning to introduce digital tracking systems, emergency medical services, modern traffic management, and enhanced facilities for pilgrims in the upcoming Char Dham Yatra season.

Once established, the council will help streamline the management of religious sites across the state, ensuring that devotees face minimal inconvenience during their spiritual journeys.
