Ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party (SP) has gone into alert mode, actively monitoring reservation and delimitation data to prevent alleged manipulation by the ruling party. The SP leadership has assigned specific responsibilities to party officials in each district and appointed senior leaders at the state level to oversee the process and report any irregularities to the Election Commission without delay.
SP President Akhilesh Yadav has repeatedly cautioned that the BJP possesses both data and technology and is utilizing IT professionals to influence outcomes. Party sources allege that the ruling party may attempt to manipulate caste demographics in the delimitation process to weaken SP’s calculations under the PDA (Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak) formula.
The SP is also closely watching how reservation is implemented, determined to prevent any distortion in the process. Party workers are being trained to effectively present their cases before local officials at the village, block, and district levels.
The SP leadership has made it clear that if any wrongdoing is detected, the party will not hesitate to approach the Election Commission or even seek legal recourse through the courts.
