Ahmedabad Plane Crash: PM Modi Meets Victims’ Families, Black Box Recovered

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the crash site and civil hospital to meet the injured victims. At the Ahmedabad domestic airport, he reviewed the situation with officials. Expressing grief, he tweeted that the scene of devastation was heartbreaking and extended condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the unimaginable tragedy.

The Prime Minister also met with the family of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who was among the victims, and offered his condolences.

In a significant development, the black box of the Air India Boeing 787-8 aircraft that crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad has been recovered. The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is leading the probe, while aviation regulator DGCA has ordered enhanced safety inspections of all Air India Dreamliner aircraft.

Gujarat ATS also recovered a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) from the wreckage, which may contain crucial footage leading up to the crash. An FSL team is expected to examine it soon.
