Chardham Heli Seva: Commanding Control Center Begins at Sahastradhara, Experts Deployed

To ensure safe and regulated helicopter operations during the Chardham Yatra, a Commanding Control Center has been set up at the Sahastradhara helidrome. The center houses experts from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA), meteorological department, and other safety units to provide real-time weather updates and monitor flights closely.

The center was established on the directions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who stressed strict adherence to safety protocols following recent incidents. On Tuesday, the center actively monitored operations, and due to adverse weather in Kedarnath valley and other areas, flights were halted to prevent any mishaps.

UCADA CEO Sonika confirmed that the center has become operational and is ensuring coordination among various departments. The helicopter crew is being continuously updated on weather conditions to avoid risks and ensure safe pilgrim transport during the yatra.
