Dhami Government to Provide Over 7,000 Jobs in Fifth Year, Full Plan Released

After providing more than 23,000 jobs in the past four years, the Dhami-led Uttarakhand government has announced plans to offer over 7,000 government jobs in its fifth year. In addition, the government is actively facilitating overseas employment under the Chief Minister Skill Development and Global Employment Scheme.

According to an official spokesperson, since taking office on July 4, 2021, the Dhami government has focused extensively on generating employment and enhancing youth skills. Over 23,000 young candidates have secured permanent government jobs through recruitment drives conducted by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC), Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC), and the Medical Services Selection Board.

The UKPSC is expected to conclude recruitment for approximately 600 more posts in the next six months, while UKSSSC is set to fill around 3,200 posts in the same period.

Global Employment Through Skill Development

The CM Skill Development and Global Employment Scheme, launched on November 9, 2022, has begun preparing youth for global job markets in hospitality, nursing, and the automobile sector. So far:

  • 154 youth have received training
  • 37 candidates have secured employment in Japan

Additional Youth-Centric Initiatives

The government also launched the Bharat Darshan Scheme for meritorious Uttarakhand Board students in 2023, enabling educational tours to various Indian states. Another key initiative, the CM Meritorious Student Scholarship Scheme, was also rolled out to support deserving students.

On June 21, Uttarakhand became the first state in India to implement a formal Yoga Policy, aimed at promoting wellness and professional opportunities in yoga. Earlier, in 2024, the state government also launched a new sports policy, offering 4% reservation in government jobs for sportspersons.
