Tensions flared on the Kanwar Yatra route in Haridwar on Monday as a group of Kanwar pilgrims clashed near Prem Nagar Chowk and Singhdwar. The incident led to a chaotic situation, drawing the attention of law enforcement officials.
Pilgrims alleged that the police used force during the scuffle, claiming that lathi-charge was carried out. However, senior police officers soon reached the spot, pacified the crowd, and convinced the devotees to continue their journey peacefully.
The situation was brought under control without further escalation, and no serious injuries were reported.
