The central government has approved Rs 547.83 crore for underground power cabling in Rishikesh and SCADA works in Dehradun to modernise and secure the state’s electricity infrastructure.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the approval, stating that this project will significantly enhance the stability of power supply, protect against disaster and weather-related disruptions, reduce maintenance costs, and improve urban aesthetics. He called it an important step towards building a modern, safe, and reliable electricity network, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to holistic development.
