Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, attended the inauguration of a defense equipment and drone manufacturing unit at Noida-based Rafae Amphib Company on Saturday. The company showcased its newly developed drones, with both leaders observing the demonstration.
Addressing the event, CM Yogi said that every war has introduced new formats of warfare, and Operation Sindoor offered crucial lessons. He emphasized that Uttar Pradesh is steadily advancing in defense manufacturing, with dedicated land identified for the defense corridor. He added that the new facility would help India reduce reliance on foreign nations and protect sensitive data from external capture.
CM Yogi thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for recognizing Uttar Pradesh as one of India’s two emerging defense manufacturing hubs. He also highlighted the establishment of the BrahMos missile center in Lucknow, calling it a significant achievement demonstrated during Operation Sindoor.
Meanwhile, security measures in Noida led to several opposition leaders being placed under house arrest. Samajwadi Party district president Ashray Gupta and over 30 workers were detained near Sector 51 while heading to the venue. Bhartiya Kisan Union (Kranti) state president Parvinder Yadav was kept under house arrest at his residence, and SP leader Subhash Bhati was confined since Friday night in Sector 142.
