Uttarkashi: Tension erupted in Uttarkashi district headquarters after locals accused a street vendor from a particular community of secretly recording videos of women, girls, and minors passing by. Eyewitnesses alleged that the man was sending these videos elsewhere.
Members of Hindu organizations and UKD workers created a stir late at night at the vendor’s cart, demanding strict action. On receiving information, police reached the spot and took the accused into custody.
Following complaints from multiple organizations, police registered a case under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita relating to obscene acts in public places. Officials confirmed that legal proceedings have begun against the accused.
