Haridwar/Dehradun. The Uttarakhand Vigilance Department has arrested Brijmohan Singh, a Chakbandi Lekhpal stationed in Haridwar, for accepting a bribe of ₹2500 to convert agricultural land into residential land. The arrest took place when Singh was caught red-handed taking the bribe, following a complaint from a local resident.
The complainant informed the Vigilance Department that Brijmohan Singh demanded a bribe for converting agricultural land in Prahladpur, Khanpur, belonging to his mother, into residential land. Acting on this complaint, the Vigilance team, led by the Dehradun sector, set up a trap and apprehended Brijmohan Singh at the Chakbandi office in Baserikhadar, Laksar, Haridwar.

Following the arrest, the Vigilance Department conducted searches of Singh’s residence and other locations to gather details on his movable and immovable assets. Director of Vigilance, Dr. V. Murugesan, commended the trap team and announced a cash reward for their successful operation.
