Garhwal Post Bureau

Dehradun, 27 Oct: A youth has complained of receiving death threats after a social media post. The complainant, identified as Ajay Kumar (Virat), said that a few days ago, he had posted something on social media.

Some people objected to the post and complained to the police. Later, the post was deleted by the police, and Ajay expressed regret, after which the matter was settled.

However, Ajay alleged that after this incident, some local men started threatening him with death. He said that a person named Imran Khan made a post on social media based on the slogan “Sar tan se juda,” and several others supported it. Ajay claimed that many people sent him threatening messages and tried to scare him.

He further said that on the night of 18 October, at around 8 p.m., when he was returning home with his friend Abhay near Herbertpur Chowk, one Parvez Abbas, who runs a meat and fish shop on Paonta Road, along with his associates, attacked him and threatened to kill him. Ajay alleged that they also called a crowd from a mosque on Saharanpur Road. He and his friend managed to escape and reached Herbertpur police outpost, where they informed the police about the incident.

Ajay stated that, since that day, he has been continuously receiving threats on social media and being followed by unknown people. The police have received the complaint and started the investigation.
