Uttarakhand Public Service Commission Cancels Principal Recruitment Exam Scheduled for February 2026

After a cyber attack on the State Public Service Commission's website, the Commission will publish results in newspapers until the site is restored.

Dehradun – The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has cancelled the departmental recruitment process for the posts of Principals in Government Inter Colleges and Government Girls Inter Colleges. The exam, which was scheduled to be held on February 8, 2026, has been officially withdrawn following a request from the state government.

According to official information, Education Secretary had sent a letter to the Commission on October 30, requesting the withdrawal of the requisition earlier sent by the government for the recruitment process. Acting on this request, the UKPSC cancelled the Principal Limited Departmental Examination 2026.

In a formal communication, UKPSC Secretary Alok Pandey informed the Education Secretary about the Commission’s decision. Currently, out of the total 1,385 sanctioned Principal posts in government intermediate colleges across the state, 1,184 remain vacant. To address the shortage, the government had earlier decided to fill 50 percent of these vacancies through the limited departmental examination.
