Uttarakhand – The Uttarakhand High Court has imposed a fine of ₹10,000 on the investigating officer for failing to submit key documents in the bail plea case of Usman Khan, accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Nainital. The court directed that the amount be deposited with the High Court Advocate Welfare Society within three days.
The case was heard by Justice Alok Varma, who also scheduled the next hearing for November 13 after the state requested more time to file the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report.

The case against Usman Khan was registered at Mallital Kotwali on April 30. The incident had triggered widespread protests in Nainital, demanding strict action against the accused and accountability from the investigating authorities.
