Programme held at at Vikasnagar under ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Pakhwada-2025’

Vikasnagar, 3 Nov: A special programme on the theme, “Livelihood and Entrepreneurship – SHGs Startup and Tribal Product Branding”, was organised at Vikasnagar, here, as part of the ongoing Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Pakhwada celebrations. The event aimed to promote tribal entrepreneurship, strengthen Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and foster sustainable livelihood opportunities among tribal communities.

The programme featured a vibrant exhibition of SHG and tribal products, including local handicrafts, processed food items, and traditional artifacts. Interactive startup and entrepreneurship sessions were also conducted, focusing on product branding, marketing strategies, and value addition to tribal produce. Participants received expert guidance on establishing and managing successful tribal enterprises.

Dr JMS Tomar, Head, Plant Science Division, IISWC, addressed the gathering and emphasised the importance of linking tribal products with mainstream markets through innovation, value addition, and effective branding. He encouraged SHG members and young entrepreneurs to explore new business avenues rooted in local resources and traditional skills.

The event truly embodied the spirit of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh, celebrating the contributions of tribal communities to India’s socio-economic and cultural development, while empowering them through entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

Special acknowledgment was given to Mangal Singh Chauhan for his valuable assistance, coordination, and support in the successful organisation of the event.
