Dehradun, 6 Nov: A literary symposium was organised today by Navodit Pravah in honour of Norway-based NRI writer Dr Suresh Chandra Shukla ‘Sharad Alok’, which was attended by several prominent writers and poets of the city. As the Chief Guest, Dr Sharad Alok presented a soulful recitation of his sensitive poem “Tum Mujhe Mil Gaye”. He also spoke about the creative literary activities being undertaken in Hindi in Norway.
The special guest, renowned orthopaedic specialist and Padma Shri awardee Dr Bhupendra Kumar Singh ‘Sanjay’, recited his poem on a developed India “Badhe Desh, Yeh Kartavya Nibhana Hoga…” while well-known lyricist Dr Buddhinath Mishra mesmerised the audience with his famous composition on Uttarakhand “Wah Hawa Pahaadi Naagin-si Jis Ore Gayi…”.
Dr Basanti Mathpal recited “Zara Zara Si Manzilen, Zara Zara Si Khwahishein…”, and Jay Prakash Pandey ‘Pahadi’ presented his poignant poem “Pahaad Ka Aakhiri Khat”.
Other poets, including Rajneesh Trivedi, Virendra Dangwal ‘Parth’, Chandan Singh Negi, Someshwar Pandey, Dr Sudesh Vyala, GK Pipal, Shivmohan Singh, and Rahul Vashistha, also shared their compositions.
At the beginning of the event, Dr BN Mishra and Rajneesh Trivedi honoured Dr Sharad Alok by presenting him with a shawl and a bouquet.
The programme was conducted by Rajneesh Trivedi of Navodit Pravah. The special Love Edition of Navodit Pravah was presented to the chief guest and special guest. Dr Basanti Mathpal proposed the vote of thanks.
