Dehradun, 6 Nov: The Office of the Accountant General (A&E), Uttarakhand is organising a Workshop on Financial Literacy to strengthen accounting practices and promote transparency in public financial management across the State Government.
The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG) has been emphasizing the importance of sensitizing Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), Treasury Officers, and Budget Holders through regular seminars and workshops. These initiatives, conducted in coordination with the State Government, aim to build institutional capacity and enhance the quality of State Government Accounts at the grassroots level.
In line with this vision, the Office of the Accountant General (A&E), Uttarakhand, under the guidance of Jayant Sinha, Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General (Government Accounts), is conducting this workshop on 7 November, at 10 a.m. in the Conference Hall of the Nainital Club, Nainital.
The workshop will be led by Mohd. Parwez Alam, Accountant General, along with Lokesh Datal, Senior Deputy Accountant General, SC Mamgain, Deputy Accountant General, and other senior officers from the AG Office.
The event will be graced by the presence of senior officers from the State Administration, Police, Forest, Judiciary, Public Works Department (PWD), and District Administration of Nainital, as well as officials from various line departments. Their participation underscores the importance of inter-departmental coordination in strengthening financial management practices across the State.
The workshop aims to enhance financial awareness, build institutional capacity, and reinforce accountability among government functionaries — ensuring greater accuracy and transparency in maintaining State Government Accounts.
This initiative represents a significant step towards strengthening financial governance and fostering fiscal discipline across the State of Uttarakhand.
