Dehradun, 9 Nov: Gynaecologist and obstetrician at Sanjay Orthopedic Spine and Maternity Centre, Dr Sujata Sanjay, has once again achieved a remarkable milestone. Recognized for her tireless efforts in promoting women’s health and awareness, Dr. Sujata has successfully completed over 250 health-related radio talk shows, earning her a place in the World Wide Book of Records.
Dr Sujata’s journey stands as a testament to her dedication to society. Earlier, in 2017, she was also honored by the India Book of Records for organizing over 187 free health consultation camps, benefiting more than 5,500 women.
Dr Sujata shared that she began this mission in 2015 with the vision of encouraging women to be more conscious of their health. Through her radio programs, she has reached even the most remote
and mountainous regions, providing medical guidance to thousands of women through calls and live radio interactions.
According to Dr Sujata, many women in rural and hilly areas still lack access to proper healthcare facilities and accurate information. This is why she chose radio as a powerful medium—to ensure that every woman, whether in a village or a city, can easily access essential health knowledge.
Due to limited resources and social hesitation, women often ignore minor health issues, which later turn into serious problems. In such circumstances, radio has proven to be an accessible and effective platform for spreading health awareness,” she emphasised.
Through her radio shows, Dr Sujata educates women in simple and relatable language on important topics such as menstrual hygiene, prenatal care, breast cancer awareness, reproductive health, and nutrition. Her goal is to help women stay informed, take timely action, and seek appropriate medical care when needed.
“A healthy woman is the foundation of a healthy society,” says Dr Sujata. “If women receive the right information at the right time, many diseases can be prevented.”
Dr Sujata further shared that her radio programs are broadcast through FM channels and All India Radio (Akashvani) across various states of India. Her initiative not only promotes health education but also inspires a wave of awareness throughout society.
