Mussoorie, 16 Nov: Uttarakhand BJP State Secretary Neha Joshi reacted sharply to the Bihar election results here, today, saying that the NDA’s historic victory has robbed the opposition of its sleep. Addressing reporters, she said that instead of understanding the reasons for their defeat, the opposition, especially the Congress, is repeatedly harping on EVMs, even though the public has clearly given its mandate. Neha Joshi claimed that even senior Congress leaders are now admitting from public platforms that the party is constantly diverting its focus from the issues to hide its inaction.
She said that the country’s democracy requires a strong and vigilant opposition, but today the Congress is only focused on saving the Gandhi family’s existence. She said that the Congress’s vote share in Bihar falling below that of the AIMIM is proof of the party’s declining support base. Neha Joshi expressed hope that the Congress, being a national party, will introspect and will do positive politics on national issues in the future. She said that the opposition should cooperate in the nation-building work being carried out under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, because this work is not only the government’s, but the entire country’s.
