Haridwar – A case of expired snack packets being distributed to school students surfaced during an official oath-taking ceremony at Rishikul Auditorium, Haridwar. The event was organised by the district administration to mark five years of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (Drug-Free India Campaign). After the programme, snack packs were handed out to students, but several packets were later found to be past their expiry date.

Following the discovery, administration officials immediately intervened and replaced the packets. Videos showing expired chips being checked by students also surfaced on social media, raising questions over quality control and supervision during government-linked events.

Several public representatives and officials, including MLA Madan Kaushik and Mayur Anita Sharma, were present at the programme. District Probation Officer Avinash Bhadoria said the matter has been taken seriously, expired packets were withdrawn on the spot, and further inquiry is underway to determine how the expired stock reached the venue.
