Dehradun, November 29, 2024: District Magistrate (DM) Savin Bansal presided over a public hearing in Kalsi Block, addressing a total of 153 grievances submitted by local residents. The session aimed to resolve long-standing issues related to road construction, healthcare, land compensation, and other developmental concerns. Most complaints were resolved on the spot, bringing relief to the attendees.
The DM assured immediate compensation to a senior citizen who had been waiting for years for land acquired for a road project. Camps were also instructed to address complaints under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. Additionally, the Common Service Center (CSC) in Kalsi will soon have staff appointed, and the Red Cross Hospital in Nagnath will be equipped with an ultrasound machine and ambulance services.

Road-related grievances were highlighted during the session, with the DM demanding comprehensive reports from PWD, NH, and PMGSY officials by December 15. Residents also requested the artistic development of Yatra Ghats in the Yamuna Valley, to which the DM assured consideration.
One of the key cases involved a senior citizen struggling since the 1990s over discrepancies in land records. The DM directed officials to resolve the matter promptly with legal counsel.
Illegal activities such as timber smuggling and the overloading of mining vehicles were also discussed. The DM instructed the police and forest officials to act decisively. Concerns regarding hazardous mobile towers led to orders for the removal of debris and costs to be recovered from the respective companies.
The hearing saw participation from Chief Development Officer Abhinav Shah, Block Pramukh Mathor Singh Chauhan, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjay Gupta, and other district officials. Residents expressed their gratitude for the administration’s direct approach, noting that this was the first visit by a district magistrate to Kalsi in nine years.
