Police launched a strict vehicle checking drive at Rampur border following heightened security measures after the recent Delhi blast incident. During the operation, a Uttar Pradesh Police sub-inspector was found driving a car with illegal black window film, while a BJP leader was caught using two hooters in violation of traffic regulations. Police removed the black film and hooters from both vehicles and took action on the spot. More than 30 vehicles were penalised for various violations.

According to SSP Manikant Mishra, security has been strengthened across the district and intensive checking is being carried out on borders connected to Uttar Pradesh and Nepal. Vehicles arriving from other states are being inspected thoroughly.

The checking drive, led by CO Prashant Kumar on Tuesday late evening, also resulted in action against a vehicle driver after a sword was found inside his car.

During the operation, the UP sub-inspector was stopped and directed to remove the black film, and was allowed to leave only after an apology. Similarly, the BJP leader’s car was found fitted with two hooters, which were immediately removed by police.
