Nainital – After the arrest of two suspects in Haldwani’s Banbhoolpura area in connection with the Delhi blast case, police in Nainital have heightened security measures. Authorities are questioning Maulana Mohammad Naeem, the Imam of Tallital mosque, for nearly three hours to investigate possible links to the detained individuals.
According to sources, the interrogation began around 11 AM and continued till 4 PM on Saturday. Police are probing whether the arrested suspects from Haldwani have any connection with individuals in Nainital. It is reportedly being examined whether one of the arrested youths is a relative of Imam Naeem.
Police teams from Tallital police station, along with the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) and dog squad teams, conducted searches in the Tallital mosque vicinity. Their presence created tension and concern among residents as authorities thoroughly inspected the area and questioned the Imam confidentially.
Officials stated that the investigation is still ongoing and further arrests may be made if necessary. Security agencies remain on high alert across the district as the probe intensifies.
