Uttarkashi – A fire broke out at the Jal Sansthan department’s water supply store near Gofiyara on the Bhatwari Road in Uttarkashi, causing panic in the area for a brief period. According to officials, the fire started in stored plastic pipes inside the Jal Kal store premises.
As soon as information about the incident was received, a fire service team was immediately dispatched to the spot. Firefighters reached the location in time and managed to bring the flames under control, preventing the fire from spreading to nearby structures or equipment.
Officials said that only plastic pipes kept in the store were damaged in the incident. No injuries were reported, and there was no loss of life. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and the department is assessing the extent of material damage.

Fire department officials stated that timely action helped avoid a major accident, especially considering the location of the store along a busy road.
