A massive fire broke out at a tent warehouse in the Bairagi Camp area of Haridwar on Wednesday afternoon, creating panic in the surrounding locality. Thick smoke and high flames were visible from a long distance, prompting fear among local residents and nearby shopkeepers.
As soon as information about the incident was received, the fire department swung into action and rushed two fire tenders to the spot. Firefighters immediately started efforts to control the blaze.
According to officials, a large quantity of tents and other highly flammable materials were stored inside the warehouse, due to which the fire spread rapidly. Fire department teams are continuing operations to bring the fire completely under control.
As a precautionary measure, the nearby area was evacuated to avoid any risk to lives. No casualties have been reported so far. However, there is a strong possibility of heavy losses due to damage to the materials stored inside the warehouse.

The exact cause of the fire is not yet known. Authorities said further investigation will be carried out once the fire is fully extinguished.
