Dhami orders Cashless Hospital Treatment for Road Accident Victims

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday inaugurated a new training portal for skill development of workers registered with the Uttarakhand Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. The portal was launched during a meeting held at the state secretariat in Dehradun.

The Chief Minister said the training portal is an important step towards making skill development of registered workers and their dependent family members transparent, effective and technology-driven. He said the initiative will help workers access training programmes easily and ensure proper monitoring of the entire process.

CM Dhami said the portal has been developed to make labour training programmes online and transparent. He instructed officials to also focus on other needs linked to the overall development of workers after completion of skill training, so that training benefits translate into better livelihoods.

He further directed that regular feedback should be taken from entrepreneurs regarding their skill requirements. This, he said, will help align training programmes more closely with employment opportunities and market demand.

The Chief Minister stressed the need to promote training in trades such as plumbing, carpentry and electrical work according to regional requirements. He said this will ensure that local needs are met by local workers, increase employment opportunities and help maintain demographic balance in different regions of the state.
