A businessman was shot dead by unidentified assailants near Tibetan Market in Dehradun, triggering panic in the area. The injured man was rushed to Doon Hospital by police, where doctors declared him dead.
The deceased has been identified as Arjun Sharma, a resident of Indira Nagar under Basant Vihar police station. He was the owner of Amardeep Gas Agency located on GMS Road. Police confirmed his identity shortly after the incident.
Upon receiving information, police teams reached the spot, cordoned off the area and began an investigation. Senior police officers also inspected the crime scene and took stock of the situation from officials present there.
Preliminary investigation suggests that Arjun Sharma was reportedly involved in a dispute related to family business matters and financial transactions. According to sources, his mother had earlier approached the High Court citing threat to his life and had sought security in connection with the dispute.
Eyewitnesses and initial findings indicate that two attackers riding a scooter carried out the shooting and fled the scene immediately after the incident. The broad daylight firing has created fear among local traders and residents in the busy market area.

On the directions of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Dehradun, multiple police teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused. A district-wide checking drive has also been launched. Police officials stated that all angles are being examined and efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those involved.
