Dehradun: To mark the silver jubilee celebrations, the Dehradun district administration, in collaboration with the Tourism, Sports, and Youth Welfare Departments, organized a series of adventure and fitness events, including hot air balloon rides, paragliding, and an eight-kilometer marathon. The initiative aimed to inspire youth participation in the Fit India Movement and promote a culture of health and adventure.
In Doiwala block’s Thano area, a hot air balloon ride was organized at the Government Inter College ground, where several young participants and students enjoyed the thrill of the ride. The event brought excitement and enthusiasm among school students who witnessed the adventure up close.
Additionally, in Chak Talai village under Thano Nyaya Panchayat, a paragliding show was held featuring skilled paragliders from the BSF Institute of Adventure and Training, Dehradun. The team demonstrated aerial stunts, accuracy, and strength, leaving the spectators amazed.
On November 7, an eight-kilometer marathon was conducted from Dehradun’s Pavilion Ground, drawing participation from over 700 youth runners. The marathon promoted fitness awareness and supported the Fit India and Fit Uttarakhand campaigns, encouraging the youth to stay active and healthy.
District Tourism Officer Vrijendra Pandey said the events provided a meaningful way for young participants to celebrate the silver jubilee year through fitness and adventure. Winners of the hot air balloon ride, paragliding, and marathon competitions were honored by the district administration for their achievements.
