The Indian Army has started the online registration process for Agniveer recruitment across various categories. Candidates can apply through the official website, joinindianarmy.nic.in, until April 1. The recruitment will be conducted through a Computer-Based Entrance Examination (CEE) to be held at 176 centres across the country.

In a key change this year, the upper age limit has been increased to 22 years from the earlier 21 years. Eligible candidates aged between 17½ and 22 years can now apply. Applicants must select five preferred examination centres, out of which one will be allotted. An application fee of Rs 250 must be paid online. Only those who qualify in the entrance examination will proceed to the next stages of recruitment.

Under the Army Recruitment Office, Almora, youth from four districts of Uttarakhand — Almora, Bageshwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar — will be eligible to participate in the process. Candidates are allowed to apply for two different categories simultaneously this year, a move that may increase competition levels.

As per eligibility criteria, candidates applying for Agniveer General Duty must have passed Class 10. For Technical, Clerk and Store Keeper Technical posts, Class 12 with Science is mandatory. For Tradesman positions, candidates with Class 10 or Class 8 qualifications are eligible. The eligibility for Women Military Police and Nursing Assistant posts has been fixed at Class 10 pass.

Sports achievers, NCC certificate holders and ITI-qualified candidates will receive bonus marks. International, national, state and district-level players will be awarded marks based on their achievements. NCC ‘C’ certificate holders can receive up to 20 bonus marks.
