The All India Akhada Parishad has firmly rejected the threats issued by Khalistani leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, calling it a conspiracy to create communal divisions. Parishad President Mahant Ravindra Puri assured that Pannu’s threats would not disrupt the Mahakumbh and declared that the event would proceed without any hindrance.
Pannu’s Threats and Background
Pannu, the head of the banned organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) and designated as a terrorist by the Indian government, recently released a video threatening to disrupt the major bathing dates of the Magh Mela, scheduled for January 14 and January 29. This threat surfaced on Monday, coinciding with the elimination of three Khalistani Zindabad Force militants in an encounter by Uttar Pradesh and Punjab police in Pilibhit.
Strong Response from Akhada Parishad
Mahant Ravindra Puri stated that no disturbance at the Mahakumbh would be tolerated and issued a stern warning to Pannu, stating that any attempt to infiltrate the event would result in his ejection. He described Pannu’s actions as an unsuccessful attempt to divide Indian society and called for stringent action against those threatening the country’s unity and integrity.
