With just three days left for the commencement of the Amarnath Yatra, Jammu has transformed into a hub of devotional fervor as offline registration began for the 2025 pilgrimage. Large crowds were seen at registration centers like Saraswati Dham and Vaishnavi Dham, where devotees queued up to get their tokens and complete formalities.
Despite heavy rain, thousands of Shiva devotees arrived in Jammu, many having missed the online registration window. Long lines formed outside registration centers, with many pilgrims—especially women—waiting patiently since early morning or even overnight. The offline registration process has triggered a visible spiritual energy in the city, with sadhus and locals actively participating in the preparations.
The pilgrimage officially starts on July 3, and the security apparatus is in full force from Lakhanpur to the holy cave shrine. CRPF has ramped up surveillance along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, focusing on sensitive zones like the Udhampur sector, and highway patrols have been intensified. Road access near Saraswati Dham and the Railway Station has been temporarily restricted to ensure security.
SDM Jammu South, Manu Hansa, confirmed that all necessary facilities for pilgrims have been arranged. He appealed to the public to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities for a smooth and safe yatra.
Pilgrims like Kripa Shankar Mishra from Varanasi shared that they arrived in Jammu without online registration and plan to join the first group departing on July 3 after completing registration. Many others have started gathering outside Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas for information and accommodation.
As the yatra nears, Jammu is buzzing with spiritual enthusiasm. With sadhus roaming the streets and local residents gearing up to welcome pilgrims, the city is ready to play host to one of the country’s most significant religious journeys.
