Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, speaking in Anand, Gujarat on the occasion of the Ministry of Cooperation completing four years, emphasized that cooperative institutions cannot sustain themselves in the long run without transparency and technology. He noted that cooperatives that failed to adapt to technological advancements have struggled to remain competitive.
Highlighting the importance of member-centric governance, Shah stated that any cooperative institution that does not prioritize the interests of its members is bound to collapse. He urged cooperative leaders across the country to inculcate three core values in their operations — transparency, adoption of modern technology, and unwavering focus on member welfare.
According to Shah, these principles are the foundation of a strong and sustainable cooperative movement that can thrive in the modern economic landscape.
