Uttarakhand: Recruitment for Anganwadi Workers and Assistants, 6,559 Women to Get Jobs

In a significant employment boost, 6,559 women in Uttarakhand will soon secure jobs as Anganwadi workers and assistants. Women Empowerment and Child Development Minister Rekha Arya has directed the initiation of the recruitment process for 374 Anganwadi workers and 6,185 assistants. The department is expected to issue the official notification within two days.

Minister Rekha Arya stated that many assistant positions had remained vacant after the upgradation of Anganwadi centers. Following recent amendments to the Anganwadi recruitment rules, the hiring process has been cleared. The online application process will open soon, providing a 30-day window for candidates to apply.

The minister also instructed officials to expedite the recruitment process. Additionally, while reviewing schemes like the Nanda Gaura Yojana, she directed the preparation of proposals to ensure essential facilities such as drinking water, electricity, and toilets at Anganwadi centers. District Program Officers have been asked to submit these proposals to the Directorate within five days.
