The sacred idols of Uddhav, Kuber, Adi Guru Shankaracharya, and Garud have arrived at Badrinath Dham as preparations intensify for the grand opening of the temple gates. The Badrinath Temple has been adorned with 40 quintals of fresh flowers in anticipation of the ceremonial opening scheduled for 6 AM on May 4. Meanwhile, light rainfall continues in the region, adding a serene aura to the holy town.
The rituals leading up to the gate opening began on Friday, with the sacred seat (gaddi) of Adi Shankaracharya and Badrinath’s chief priest, Rawal Amarnath Namboodiri, departing from the Narasimha Temple in Jyotirmath. Amidst Vedic chants, devotional songs, and cries of “Jai Badri Vishal,” the entourage reached Yog Dhyan Badri Temple in Pandukeshwar by afternoon.
On Saturday, the ceremonial procession comprising the festival dolis of Kuber and Uddhav, the sacred oil urn (Gadu Ghada), and Adi Shankaracharya’s gaddi will proceed toward Badrinath. Special prayers were also held at the Narasimha Temple on Friday morning, drawing devotees from across India. Following the rituals, the priestly delegation led by Rawal Amarnath Namboodiri and Dharmadhikari Radhakrishna Thapliyal departed for Pandukeshwar.
The spiritual momentum continues to build as thousands await the divine darshan at the revered Badrinath Temple.
