Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered a probe into the death of a one-and-a-half-year-old child in Bageshwar, allegedly due to medical negligence. He directed the Kumaon Commissioner to investigate the matter thoroughly and assured strict action if any lapses are found.

Terming the incident as “unfortunate and distressing,” CM Dhami stated that preliminary reports indicate negligence by certain officials and employees in delivering medical services. Taking serious note of the incident, the Chief Minister emphasized that any form of carelessness or apathy will not be tolerated.

He reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to public welfare and stated that the protection of citizens’ lives and their trust in governance must remain uncompromised. The government will ensure the strictest possible action against anyone found guilty.
