Bageshwar Earthquake: Mild tremors shake district, magnitude recorded at 3.4

Mild earthquake tremors were felt in Bageshwar district and nearby areas on Friday morning, causing brief panic among residents. According to official information, the earthquake measured 3.4 on the Richter scale. No loss of life or property has been reported so far.

As per data from the National Seismological Centre (NSC), the earthquake occurred at 7:48:37 am. The epicentre was located in the Kapkot area of Bageshwar district at a depth of around 10 kilometres below the surface. Due to the early morning tremors, several residents came out of their homes for safety.

District Disaster Management Officer Shikha Suyal said that the intensity of the earthquake was low. She stated that no reports of damage have been received from any tehsil or village in the district. The administration is keeping a close watch, but the situation remains normal.
