Former BJP MLA Suresh Rathore Expelled for Six Years Amid Marriage Controversy

The Bharatiya Janata Party has expelled former Jwalapur MLA Suresh Rathore from the party for a period of six years. The decision follows a series of controversies surrounding Rathore, including his public remarks mocking the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and his second marriage while already having a wife and family.

The incident reportedly took place in Saharanpur, where Rathore married actress Urmila Sanawar, despite ongoing legal disputes between the two. Their strained relationship had been widely publicized on social media, with both parties having filed legal complaints against each other in the past.

The recent marriage, captured on video and circulated online, drew significant backlash and was deemed damaging to the party’s image. The BJP leadership promptly issued a show-cause notice to Rathore, demanding a response within seven days.

Acting on the directive of State BJP President Mahendra Bhatt, State General Secretary Rajendra Bisht issued the expulsion notice, citing “continued inappropriate conduct” and violations of party discipline. The party stated that Rathore’s actions were repeatedly bringing disrepute to the organization.
