The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released the first list of its supported candidates for the District Panchayat Member posts under the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections in Uttarakhand. The list was announced late Wednesday night.
State BJP President Mahendra Bhatt informed that the party has finalized names after thorough discussions, and candidates are being announced in a phased manner. Speaking to journalists at the state party headquarters, Bhatt stated that the complete list of BJP-backed candidates will be released before July 5.
Bhatt further added that BJP will support candidates not only for District Panchayat seats but also for Gram Pradhan and Block Panchayat (Kshetra Panchayat) positions. The party has instructed all MLAs and public representatives to actively participate in the panchayat election process to ensure victory for BJP-backed candidates at all levels.
