The BJP has removed Youth Morcha state minister Himanshu Chamoli from his post following allegations of abetment to suicide. The action came after a viral video of a youth from Pauri, who died by suicide, accused Chamoli of involvement.
BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt confirmed Chamoli’s removal, stating that the party took immediate action after the matter came to light. Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) state president Shashank Rawat also issued a formal letter relieving him of his responsibilities. Bhatt emphasized that BJP is a disciplined party that does not compromise on principles and integrity.
Meanwhile, the viral video prompted swift action by the state government. Acting on government instructions, police arrested the accused and have begun an investigation into the case.
