The Delhi Assembly Election 2025 results were announced on Saturday, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) securing 48 seats, making it the largest party in the 70-seat assembly. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) managed 22 seats, placing second in the race.
In a major upset, BJP’s Parvesh Verma defeated Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency by 4,089 votes, while in Jangpura, BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah won against Manish Sisodia by 675 votes. Similarly, Karnail Singh of BJP defeated Satyendar Jain in Shakur Basti by 20,998 votes, and in Greater Kailash, BJP’s Shikha secured victory over Saurabh Bharadwaj by 3,188 votes. In Patparganj, BJP’s Ravinder Singh Negi emerged victorious against Awdh Ojha by 28,072 votes, while in Karawal Nagar, Kapil Mishra of BJP secured a 23,355-vote victory. BJP’s Vijender Gupta also won in Rohini, defeating AAP’s Pradeep Mittal by a margin of 37,816 votes.
However, AAP managed to retain a few key seats, with Gopal Rai winning in Babarpur by 18,994 votes, Imran Hussain securing Ballimaran with a 29,823-vote lead, and Amanatullah Khan leading in Okhla with 33,225 votes. With this decisive victory, BJP has secured a clear majority, marking a significant shift in Delhi’s political landscape.
