A tragic accident occurred in Chakrata’s Lebara village on Saturday morning when a car lost control and fell into a 250-meter-deep gorge while heading towards Budher. Two people died on the spot, while two others sustained severe injuries. Locals and SDRF teams rescued the injured and transported them to the hospital.
The victims, identified as Gajendra (22), Sumit (21), Guddu (30), and Prakash (26), were traveling from Lebara to Budher for some work when their Alto car veered off the Budher motor road near Danda and plunged into the gorge. Guddu and Prakash lost their lives at the scene, while Gajendra and Sumit were critically injured.
Local residents immediately launched a rescue operation and informed the authorities. SDRF and local administration teams, with the help of 108 ambulance services, shifted the injured to the Community Health Center in Chakrata. After initial treatment, they were referred to a higher medical facility.

Revenue Sub-Inspector Anil Chauhan confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway. The families of the deceased have been informed.
