The CBI’s Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested RPF Assistant Sub-Inspector Harish and Lalkuan Railway Station technician Jasveer at Kathgodam Railway Station for accepting a ₹20,000 bribe. The duo allegedly demanded money from a dumper owner to prevent vehicle seizure and arrest.
According to reports, the incident was linked to a previous collision near the station gate. Harish initially demanded ₹2 lakh, which was negotiated down to ₹20,000 with Jasveer’s mediation. The CBI team apprehended both individuals red-handed on Sunday afternoon.
A case has been registered under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigations are ongoing to probe the involvement of other officials. The arrests have caused a stir in the RPF and Railway Department.
