Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the disaster-affected Tharali region on Sunday, conducting both ground and aerial surveys. During his visit to the relief camp at Kulsari, he interacted with affected families who became emotional upon meeting him.
The Chief Minister assured that the government stands firmly with the victims in this difficult time and every possible assistance will be extended. He distributed relief cheques to seven families and directed officials to ensure smooth arrangements at all relief centers.
Dhami emphasized that the tragedy has caused immense suffering to many families, and the government fully understands their pain. He said that rescue and relief operations are being carried out on a war footing, with officials instructed to remain on constant alert.
The Chief Minister reviewed ongoing rescue operations and appreciated the district administration’s efforts. He announced immediate financial aid of Rs 5 lakh each for families who lost their homes or relatives and directed authorities to make proper arrangements for the rehabilitation of the displaced.
