Chamoli: Fire breaks out at Army camp near Auli Road, firefighting operation underway

A sudden fire broke out at an Army camp near Auli Road in Jyotirmath area of Chamoli district, triggering panic in the surroundings. The incident occurred inside an Army storage facility, where flames quickly spread due to the presence of plastic materials and dry grass nearby.

Army personnel immediately launched firefighting efforts, while fire service teams were also rushed to the spot. Strong winds further intensified the fire, making it difficult to control and causing it to spread over a large area. Firefighters and jawans faced considerable challenges in containing the blaze.

Preliminary information suggests the fire originated from a storage area used for keeping plastic items. Adjacent open fields with dry grass contributed to the rapid spread of flames.
