CM Directs Tight Security for Religious Sites and Strict Measures Against Fake News During Char Dham Yatra

Chief Minister issued clear instructions to ensure tight security at the state’s religious and tourist destinations, with special focus on the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. Addressing district magistrates through a virtual meeting from the Chief Minister’s residence, he emphasized regular monitoring at the district level and directed immediate action against those spreading fake news through various platforms. He also instructed officials to share accurate information regularly across multiple channels.

The Chief Minister stressed strict action against individuals failing to verify tenants and residents of makeshift settlements like stalls and slums. He ordered departmental deployment for verification drives and stern measures against unauthorized issuance of documents such as ration cards, Aadhaar cards, electricity connections, and Ayushman cards. He instructed the authorities to pay special attention to forest fire management and take stringent action against those responsible for forest fire incidents.

On public health issues, the Chief Minister directed comprehensive preparations for effective dengue control, including regular fogging and awareness campaigns. He instructed uninterrupted electricity and water supply during the summer and specifically prohibited power cuts in hospitals.

Regarding the upcoming Kainchi Dham Annual Festival, he emphasized improving road conditions and ensuring adequate parking facilities. District Magistrates were also directed to conduct surprise inspections at offices to maintain efficiency and promptly address public grievances.

Monitoring the progress of smart meter installation, serious handling of electricity bill complaints, protection of government property, and ensuring that tenders up to ₹10 crore are awarded to local contractors were also prioritized. The Chief Minister encouraged regular interaction with industrial stakeholders and set targets for districts to promote the Solar Self-Employment Scheme.

Focusing on the Char Dham Yatra, he ordered smooth traffic management, prioritized deployment of local horse-mule operators, and improvement of pilgrim facilities, including cleanliness and beautification. He also stressed checking rate lists to avoid complaints of overcharging.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretaries R.K. Sudhanshu and R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Additional Director General of Police A.P. Anshuman, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat (virtually), and all district magistrates.
