The Uttarakhand government has suspended the Char Dham and Hemkund Sahib Yatra until September 5 following continuous heavy rainfall. Officials stated that while efforts are underway to clear and repair roads on priority, the decision was taken keeping pilgrims’ safety and convenience in mind.
Authorities have appealed to devotees not to travel on pilgrimage routes during the adverse weather and to strictly follow advisories issued by the administration. The yatra will resume only after weather conditions improve and the routes are declared completely safe.
The state government and local administration are closely monitoring road conditions, carrying out cleaning operations, and ensuring necessary safety measures. Pilgrims have been requested to remain patient, maintain caution, and stay updated through the control room for official travel-related information.
