Despite challenging weather conditions, the ongoing Chardham Yatra has seen an overwhelming response, with over 5.5 lakh devotees visiting the four holy shrines within just 12 days. As per the Tourism Department, from April 30 to May 11, a total of 5.50 lakh pilgrims have completed darshan across Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri.
Kedarnath Dham alone has witnessed the highest footfall, with around 19,000 to 20,000 devotees visiting the temple daily, totalling 2.27 lakh pilgrims in this period. Badrinath has recorded 1.17 lakh visitors, while Yamunotri and Gangotri have seen 1.13 lakh and 94,251 devotees respectively.
Meanwhile, the overall registration figure for the yatra has crossed 27 lakh, indicating the immense spiritual and cultural significance of the journey for devotees from across the country. Authorities continue to monitor and manage the flow of pilgrims, especially in the face of unpredictable mountain weather.
