Cycling Track Ready at City Park Near Sahastradhara Helipad, Soon to Open for Public

Residents of Dehradun will soon be able to enjoy cycling at the City Park located opposite the Sahastradhara (Nagal) Helipad, as the construction of a dedicated cycling track has been completed. The announcement was made during an inspection by MDDA Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari on Wednesday.

Tiwari stated that the City Park is one of the authority’s dream projects and has been developed with multiple public-oriented facilities. The park already features an open gym, children’s play area, canteen, and walking track. With the addition of the new cycling track, the park is now more inclusive for fitness and leisure activities.

During the visit, he instructed officials to open the track for public use at the earliest and ensure that all amenities remain accessible and citizen-friendly.

The Vice Chairman also reviewed progress on other MDDA projects during his inspection. He visited the under-construction park on sugarcane center land in Miyawala and the Gaura Devi Water Park in Defence Colony. He directed teams to accelerate work while maintaining high standards of quality.

Additionally, Tiwari inspected the Alayam residential project on Sahastradhara Road, focusing on sewer and infrastructure development. He set a deadline of June 30, 2025, for completion of these works and emphasized the need to expedite construction of studio apartments without compromising on quality.

The inspection was also attended by Secretary Mohan Singh Barniya, Chief Engineer H.C. Rana, Executive Engineer Sunil Kumar, and other officials.
